Looking Forward to A Strong Summer Season!
It's been a tough year for all of us. The 2025-26 ski season is wrapping up earlier than anyone planned, and Summit County has felt every bit of it. Keystone closes next week on April 5. Copper Mountain moved its date up to April 26. Breckenridge is still targeting May 10, but with snowpack at historic lows and March temperatures pushing well above average, nobody's holding their breath. Snowfall hit 50-year lows across the state, resorts ran roughly half their typical terrain, and the impact reached every corner of the county. Hotels saw fewer bookings, restaurants saw fewer covers, rental managers had more vacancies, and outfitters and tour operators navigated a season where the product just wasn't there. We all felt it. At Blue Sky Limo, our winter transfer volume was down significantly, and we know we're not alone in that.
But if there's one thing Summit County knows how to do, it's come back strong.
A Summer Worth Getting Excited About
One of Summit County's biggest advantages has always been the variety. Guests don't come here for one mountain. They come for a destination that stretches from Copper to Keystone to Breckenridge, with Frisco and Silverthorne tying it all together. That's what makes our summer so strong, and this year's calendar is packed.
Breckenridge's festival season runs June through September: the Agave Festival (June 26-28), the Summer Beer Festival (July 11), Fourth of July with Main Street's signature parade and fireworks, the Food & Wine Festival (July 24-26), the Breck Epic mountain bike race (August 9-14), the International Festival of Arts (August 20-23), Hogfest Bacon & Bourbon (August 28-30), and the Great Divide Art Festival over Labor Day weekend. Keystone brings back its Bluegrass & Beer Festival and one of the best downhill bike parks in North America. Copper Mountain runs its free summer concert series and the popular Bikes, Brews & Tunes on Friday evenings. Add Colorado's sesquicentennial (150 years of statehood) drawing extra domestic visitors this year, and we should all be optimistic about what's ahead.
After the winter we just had, every business in the county is counting on a strong summer. We're no different.
Getting Guests Here Without the I-70 Headache
Every business owner in this county has heard it from guests: "The drive up was brutal." I-70 traffic is the single biggest complaint visitors have about Summit County, and it's been that way for years. It's also the one thing about this destination that's completely out of our hands as local businesses.
At Blue Sky Limo, we've built our Breckenridge branch around solving exactly that problem. Private luxury SUV service from Denver International Airport, door-to-door, no shared rides, no extra stops. Guests land at DEN and arrive at their hotel, rental, or lodge without sitting in I-70 traffic themselves. For guests flying into Eagle County Regional Airport (a great alternative that more visitors are discovering each year), we cover that route too.
We also drop our rates for the summer season to help encourage more visitors during the months when the county needs them most. Here's what summer transfers look like:
From Denver Airport (DEN):
| Destination | One-Way | Round-Trip |
|---|---|---|
| DEN/Breckenridge | $500 | $1,000 |
| DEN/Keystone | $500 | $1,000 |
| Copper Mountain | $475 | $950 |
From Eagle County Airport (EGE):
| Destination | One-Way | Round-Trip |
|---|---|---|
| EGE/Breckenridge | $575 | $1,150 |
| EGE/Keystone | $575 | $1,150 |
| EGE/Copper Mountain | $565 | $1,130 |
All rates per vehicle (up to 6 passengers). Summer rates effective May through October 2026.
Red Rocks and Black Hawk from Summit County
One of the things we're most excited about strengthening this summer is our car service to Red Rocks Amphitheatre and Black Hawk casino shuttle service. These are two experiences that Summit County guests ask about constantly, and they're also popular with locals who'd rather enjoy the evening without worrying about the drive home.
The 2026 Red Rocks season is shaping up to be one of the biggest yet: Paul Simon, Rod Stewart, Brandi Carlile, David Guetta, John Mulaney, and over a hundred more shows running April through October. We provide private SUV service from Summit County directly to the amphitheatre, with the driver staying on-site for the return trip. No parking, no I-70 at midnight, just a great night out.
Black Hawk's casinos (Ameristar, Monarch, Saratoga, Lady Luck) draw visitors year-round, and our shuttle includes flexible return scheduling through 24/7 dispatch. Guests and locals alike can enjoy a full evening at the tables and come back the same night or the following day.
We launched both of these services to fill a gap that Summit County residents and visitors have been dealing with for a long time, and we're hoping more people take advantage of them this summer.
| Service | From Summit County | From Denver (DEN) |
|---|---|---|
| Red Rocks (one-way) | $525 | $300 |
| Red Rocks (round-trip) | $1,050 | $600 |
| Black Hawk (one-way) | $575 | $350 |
| Black Hawk (round-trip) | $1,100 | $650 |
All rates per vehicle (up to 6 passengers). 10% fuel surcharge applies to Black Hawk service. Hourly charter available at $200/hour.
Partnering Through the Off-Season
Before summer kicks in, there's the off-season. And after a winter like the one we just had, the stretch between closing day and Memorial Day is going to hit harder than usual. Every property manager, every restaurant owner, every tour operator in Summit County knows exactly what that feels like.
Here's what we know: guests still come to the mountains during shoulder season. They're looking for the mountain experience at a quieter pace, and they're exactly the kind of visitors who keep Summit County's economy moving when we need it most. The challenge has always been making it easy to get here and get around during those quieter weeks.
We're offering preferential transportation rates to hospitality partners (hotels, vacation rental managers, concierge services, tour operators, property management companies) specifically for the off-season. If you're putting together shoulder-season packages for your guests, we want to be the transportation piece that makes those packages work. Airport transfers, day trips to Red Rocks or Black Hawk, group arrangements, whatever helps bring visitors to our mountains between seasons.
Summit County businesses do their best work when they work together. If a partnership makes sense, reach out. We're ready to build something that works for both sides.
